Mission

As the stakeholders of HMEF,our mission is to empower and educate the whole person. This will be accomplished by providing Middle Eastern children and families educational opportunities in higher education—scholarships for local and global education--and support in the form of monetary contributions, donations, and health services to help combat poverty and alleviate the financial burden of families in developing countries.

Vision

HMEF's vision is to bring about a positive and progressive change for Middle Eastern children and families by enhancing educational opportunities and providing support to families in need. We hope to transform the lives of Middle Eastern children and youth through the process of education, mentorship and cultural awareness.

Values

Together, we support all children and families in the Middle East on their path to higher education and life-long learning by:

• Promoting a collegial decision-making process among committee members to ensure the interests of Middle Eastern children and families are met.

• Promoting parent participation in educational workshops to ensure families become active partners.

• Encouraging board member presence at HMEF workshops

• Developing a local and Middle East Task Force with community leaders, local colleges and universities, and businesses that will support HMEF.

Goals

HMEF will measure its goals and progress by purposeful feedback from students, parents, partners and donors by:

• Providing financial support to children and families in the Middle East.

• Providing educational opportunities to Middle Eastern children and youth.

• Educating donors and U.S. residents about the challenges children and families face in the Middle East.

• Encouraging a positive relationship between the U.S. and Middle Eastern countries.

• Establishing positive and productive relationships between educational institutions in the Middle East and the U.S.
