The Middle East Children and Families in Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Gaza, as well as in Lebanon, and Syria are struggling to lead healthy lives in the face of continued political instability.

• Approximately one in four children and adults in the West Bank and four in five in the Gaza Strip regularly face hunger.

• Approximately one in three children in Lebanon do not attend secondary school.

• Nearly half of all Palestinians in the West Bank, and more than three in five in the Gaza Strip, live below the poverty line.

• Two in five people living in the Gaza Strip are unemployed, and many remain homeless as a result of ongoing conflict.
